Travelling with Irish Butler Luxury Travel

What size are your hosted tour groups?

We intentionally keep our groups small. Our hosted tours accommodate a maximum of approximately 13 couples, allowing us to provide a much more personal experience than a traditional large group coach tour.

Who are your tours designed for?

Our tours are particularly suited to travellers who want to experience Ireland in comfort and style without having to organise the details themselves. They are ideal for couples, friends and small groups who value exceptional accommodation, authentic experiences and personal service.

Do I need to book my own flights?

Yes. International flights to and from Ireland are not included. Your tour begins with your arrival in Ireland, and we can advise you on the most convenient arrival arrangements for your itinerary.

Where do your hosted tours begin and end?

Our hosted tours generally begin from Dublin and finish with your airport transfer back to Dublin. However, this can be adjusted depending on guests' preferences.

Can you accommodate dietary requirements?

Absolutely. Please let us know about any dietary requirements or allergies when making your booking. We will communicate these with our hotels and dining partners in advance.

Can I extend my stay before or after my tour?

Yes. If you would like to arrive in Ireland earlier or remain after your tour, we can assist with arranging additional accommodation and airport transfers.

Can I book a private tour instead of joining a group?

Yes. Our bespoke private journeys are created around you. Whether you are travelling as a couple, family or private group, we can tailor the itinerary, accommodation and pace to your preference.

You also have the option to make your bespoke journey a Hosted Bespoke Journey, depending on the availability of our Butler / Tour Guide.

Can I request a specific hotel?

For bespoke journeys, absolutely. We can work around your preferred hotels where availability and logistics allow. Our hosted group tours use carefully selected luxury properties chosen for their location, service and character.

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking as early as possible, particularly for our hosted tours and peak travel periods. Ireland's finest hotels and private experiences can have limited availability, and early booking gives us the best opportunity to secure your preferred arrangements.

What happens when I enquire?

Once you contact us, we will discuss your travel plans, dates, preferences and requirements. For bespoke journeys, we then create a personalised proposal for you. For hosted tours, we can provide availability, booking details and the next steps.

Do you cater for mobility requirements?

We are happy to discuss mobility requirements before booking so that we can ensure the itinerary, accommodation and experiences are suitable. Some historic sites in Ireland have uneven surfaces, steps or limited accessibility, so we will be happy to advise you in advance.

What happens if the weather changes?

Irish weather is unpredictable. We monitor conditions and where necessary may adjust timings or make alternative arrangements to ensure you continue to have a wonderful experience.

What to pack?

Ireland's weather can be wonderfully unpredictable, so we recommend packing with layers and versatility in mind. Even during the warmer months, a light jacket or rainproof layer is always useful.

We recommend bringing: comfortable walking shoes or trainers with good grip; a waterproof or water-resistant jacket; lightweight layers that can be added or removed throughout the day; comfortable trousers or casual clothing for sightseeing; a smart-casual outfit for dinners and evenings; a warmer layer for cooler evenings and coastal visits; a compact umbrella; sunglasses and sunscreen; any personal medication or essentials required; a small day bag for excursions; and a reusable water bottle.

What about luggage?

We recommend bringing luggage that is comfortable to manage, as you will be staying in several different hotels during your stay. For hosted tours your luggage will travel with you between destinations and porters will assist us at all hotels.

What should I wear for our experiences?

Ireland is generally relaxed, but some of our experiences and fine dining venues may call for smart-casual attire. For outdoor experiences, historic sites and coastal visits, comfort and suitable footwear are more important than dressing formally.

We also recommend checking the weather forecast shortly before your departure so you can make any last-minute adjustments to your packing.

A little Irish weather advice

Don't be surprised if you experience sunshine, rain and a cool breeze all in the one day – sometimes within the same hour!

The secret to enjoying Ireland is simply to layer well, bring a good waterproof jacket and embrace the weather. Some of the most beautiful Irish landscapes are at their best when the skies are changing.

And don't worry if you forget something. Ireland has plenty of wonderful shops, and we will be happy to point you in the right direction if you need anything during your stay.

Can travel agents book your tours?

Yes. We welcome relationships with travel advisors and agencies, particularly those specialising in luxury and experiential travel. Please contact us to discuss our advisor programme and commission arrangements.

Do you offer travel insurance?

We strongly recommend that all guests obtain comprehensive travel insurance before travelling, including cover for cancellation, medical expenses, baggage and travel disruption.

What makes your tours different?

We believe Ireland should be experienced, not simply visited. Our journeys combine beautiful luxury accommodation with authentic Irish experiences, carefully planned itineraries and the personal attention of a qualified Irish tour guide and professionally trained host. The result is a more intimate and effortless way to discover Ireland.

Can I transfer my booking to another person?

Yes, a booking can be transferred to another person. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to transfer your booking. The new traveller must meet all applicable booking requirements and agree to our booking terms and conditions.

Irish Butler Luxury Travel will not charge an administration or transfer fee for changing the name on your booking. However, if any additional costs are imposed by our accommodation, transportation or experience partners, these costs may be passed on to the guest.

Can I upgrade my room?

Yes, room upgrades may be available at some of our hotels, subject to availability. If you would like to upgrade your room to a higher category or suite, please let us know when making your booking or contact us before your departure. We will be happy to check availability and provide the applicable upgrade cost.
